Private Lessons

Private Lessons offer a chance for individual instruction as you work on your game. Our court time is limited, so please be patient with our lesson availability.

  • Private lessons with 3 or more students will require an additional $10/person fee.

  • Payment is expected for any lessons canceled less than 24 hours in advance.

  • Members and current players will have priority in scheduling private lessons with our coaches.

Minnetonka Tennis Club Teaching Professionals

Our teaching staff has over 100 years of teaching and coaching experience working with junior and senior high tennis teams, and college tennis teams at the Division I, II or III levels along with teaching at country clubs and tennis camps within the Twin Cities area and throughout the country.

Rumeal Setts, PTR Certified

Director of Tennis at MTC since 2025, Rumeal has over 15 years of coaching experience across public facilities, school programs and collegiate teams. He is a former competitor for Hamline University and the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Club Tennis Team. Rumeal has also officiated for both the USTA and ITA and remains active in league and tournament play.

Scott Swanson, USPTA

Assistant Director of Tennis at MTC and previous Director of Tennis at MTC since 1994, USPTA Northwest Section Coach of the Year in 1994, NWPTA Industry Excellence Award 2003, coached Blaine Boy’s, Columbia Heights Varsity, Coon Rapids Junior High, Southwest HS, St. Paul Tennis Club, Daytona Indoor Tennis and Lake Hubert Tennis Camps.

Lindsay Whipple, USPTA

A former D1 collegiate player at William & Mary, Lindsay joined MTC as part of our teaching staff in January 2025. Recently, Lindsay was inducted into the Maine Sports Hall of Fame and still enjoys competing in USTA team tennis at the national level. Lindsay coached her three daughters who were nationally ranked junior players and now play college tennis and also coached varsity girls tennis at Benilde-St. Margaret for a number of years.

Glenn Britzius, USPTA

Glenn joined MTC in the fall of 2007 as a teaching professional, Glenn has been on staff at Oakridge CC, Northwest/Lifetime AC, Augsburg College, played on the University of Minnesota Tennis Team. He actively participates in a variety of USTA/USPTA local and National Tournaments.

Larson Ringlien, PTR

Larson joined our teaching staff in 2026 after previously coaching both juniors and adults at Woodhill Country Club and Fred Wells Tennis & Education Center for the past 4 years. Larson also enjoyed coaching high school girls’ tennis at The Blake School.

Rod Vaught, USPTA

In 2008, Rod joined our teaching staff at MTC. His tennis experience and coaching resume include Head Coach of Indiana State and Duruy College where he earned “Coach of the Year” honors. As a collegiate player he was ranked #1 at Southwest Missouri State and was the Division 1 MVP multiple years. Off the courts Rod enjoys playing golf and keeps our junior players engaged with lots of trivia!
